The view from my hotel window at the Imperial Palace. Not spectacular, but I could see the people across the way at Harrah's doing God knows what.

Did I ever tell you that I once met George Kennan in Las Vegas... I think it was at the Sands... he was in town at the invitation of Buddy Hacket, oh probably in about 1958..August, I think it was.. Buddy was on stage and he asked George to stand up and take a bow for being such an impottant international guy and everything. George was very much the shy type but he did it anyway, stand up that is, and the crowd went wild.. He dodged across the stage to escape the throng and I last saw him two days later in one of those Groucho glasses disguises with sammy Davis Jr.. george sure hangs in a hi powered crowd, don't you think?
